Willing to personal swap for art of my doggies!

I made this in the summer for the FOC Secret Swap, for crazyda79.  Butterflies had special meaning for her and this came together rather organically.  I wanted to do something decorative with some butterfly images I had, but was not sure.  So I initially transferred the images onto muslin and played around with colouring them with chalk colours.  Then I cut them out and sewed them onto some quilting scraps I had.  I thought maybe I would try making a mini quilt, or decorating kitchen linens with them.  But then I layered them together and decided to make them focals on a mobile.  I had DH cut me the wood, and I sandwiched the images over ribbon and made danglers from denim with some creativity related words that I thought applied to butterflies (and Craftster members).  I was pretty happy how it turned out.

I posted about this earlier in the summer on my blog. If I do this again, I may play with the colours - I wanted something soft and was experimenting with a chalk palette, but I am not worried about the colours fading in the sun.

What a special piece. The chalk coloring adds such a soft touch. I really like that look.

Thank you.  There was something soft and romantic about it, wasn't there?  It seemed outside of my norm, but I like how it turned out.  I wish I had some of my grandmother's lace stash - that would have added a nice touch to it I think.
