I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

Have you ever thought of a great craft, but had no idea how to execute it? That's pretty much how this began and this is the end result. These were crafted for the amazing patty_o_furniture (or patty_OH!, because that's what I say every time I see her projects) mainly because she has the cutest kids and toys are fun to make. The theatre is mostly masonite, and was impossible to paint over. Probably because I had no idea what I was doing...but I also watercoloured the house crests and a Potions class background on paper, then adhered it to the board. The curtain can be lifted with a string and when you're all done playing, the panels can be stored in the base.

The final puppets were made after a few trial and error runs, and I think they came out kind of cute. I like the look of vintage puppets carved from wood but I know my limits. Plus, I like my fingers. So polymer clay it was for the head, hands, feet and partial legs. Polymer clay scares the bejesus out of me, but less so than the woodcarving tools. The body is constructed with a wooden bead and wooden cup thingy, elastic, wire, and glue. Some drilling was involved, but not too much. Add some wool hair, suede cloth clothes, a wire hanger and string, and (eventually) viola! Puppets!

I lost the blurry picture of the trio in class  Huh Oh well. You get the idea.

I fixed the pictures without asking for help from the boy. Last time I did that, he renamed all of my files butt1, butt2, butt3...

These are lovely. Such a great idea and they turned out very well indeed. I'd  love to see a larger picture of the theatre. The whole project looks so much fun and made a super gift.

The puppets are absolutely adorable. Look at their faces so perfect. And Ron's face has such great expression. And the bodies, they are so cute.
I love it!

Can't really see the theater, the picture is kinda small.
