the snobs who must define and categorize and think "things are THIS way" might be wrong and that there are many things us silly humans just can't comprehend, and perhaps should not try to understand lest our heads explode

100% agree! Cheesy

Oh, and did anyone see the announcement that Monty Python is getting back together to do a show???

I wish they could get back together all the way; one Python can only be there in spirit.   Cry

One reporter, when talking about the Monty Python reunion said something like, "Monty Python, long thought to be dead, has come back to life,"  I was torn between being offended as she didn't seem to know one of them was indeed dead, but then again I think the Pythons might like the idea of coming back as Zombies Grin

Is this still a going concern? The original poster's idea, to do nonsense-style classic authors specifically, sounds like a lot of fun!

A theme with other kinds of grown-up skit comedy and so on wouldn't really be my speed though.  I like my nonsense inside my head, I guess. Smiley  I'll keep an eye on this, just in case. Smiley

I'm hoping we can be partnered with those who prefer similar types of nonsense to ours (in my case literary nonsense).  Smiley

Just checked a new book out at our local library: Jeeves and the Wedding Bells, An homage to P.G. Wodehouse by Sebastian Faulks. Hope Faulks has more than a touch of Wodehouse's deliciously absurd British humor.

While I'm thinking about literature, don't forget The Importance of Being Earnest. Delightfully confusing and funny.

Talking about literary nonsense-(in a delightful combination with awesomely skilled musicians)  Grin

KNORKATOR needs to be included in this amazing list of nonsense that makes this world so much more bearable at times :

It's a Berlin-band, that generally has mindblowing nonsense-lyrics that actually are poetry (or seem like it) , the most amazing yet being "absolution". Here is the link where someone actually took the time to write down what they are singing:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g21GZFxDDxc

adding to that their strange and wonderful cover-versions such as this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bku0ryIHadk

And to top it all of: yes, they do indeed dress in fake fur!

http://www.eurovision.de/geschichte/knorkator101_v-gallery.jpg

and trust me, their concerts are experiences of , well, a whole different nature. Not only do they throw stuff at the audience (like food), they also like wrecking the whole stage including themselfes while wearing the oddest kind of stage-costumes I have ever seen  Grin Grin Grin

Or no costumes!  At all!   Cheesy

Naturally this group appeals to me because of my fondness for countertenors.   Wink  Thanks for the introduction!
