My best friend turned 40 this year and her favorite character is Harley Quinn! Although she likes the newer version of Harley I can only seem to connect with the original that I saw on the Batman Cartoons as a kid and even this one is a little more "sexy" than the one I remember! Here is the cover I made for her!

I used my Cricut to make the screen printed Harley for the front. I think this is the best application I've had yet because of all the pressing I had to do while quilting it. I used heat n bond for the diamond appliques with blanket stitch on my sewing machine.

For the back I used my Cricut on Stabilizer to draw out the Harley head and then used my sewing machine to embroider it. Then I simply tore away the stabilizer. It gives it a bit of a free hand look!

For the inside I used two different fabrics for the "flaps" in true Harley Fashion!

I am trying to make all my projects for the rest of the year only using from my stash.... which consists of 2 50 gallon bins and more hidden fabric hidden throughout my house!
I had been in a crafting rut lately dealing with raising two kids, 2 dogs (we just added the second dog this past weekend) and dealing with an autoimmune disorder... Not knowing what to get my friend because I am not sure what all she has lead to this fantastic cover and a rebirth of my creativity! Now to find the time!
