I didn't manage to get a start, although I have everything. I have been working on a costume for a con this weekend, Sunday night will be working on it.

I am always behind the 8-ball on this swap. I need to think, think, think before I actually sit down to craft and I am still in the thinking stage. This weekend is a must craft weekend though, so I should be getting to work.

I think I'd like it if people would check in every once in a while so I'll start us off with a question:
What hooked you on Steampunk?

What got me started? My dad read Sci-Fi, all us kiddos read it too. My brother and I exchange writers we enjoy. I read Steampunk before it was acknowledged as Steampunk. I was delighted to find that there was crazy crafters who loved it too, even if sometimes it seems that the look is all they know. Who cares, it's fun.

Anyone have a favorite author. I'll list some books when I have a chance.

Since I have no time to craft until Thanksgiving dinner is cooked and eaten. It may be a while.

I got some cool supplies on Ebay and at work and I think I'm going to go for all different ornaments again. This is such a fun swap!

I love H.G. Wells, Jules Verne, and Arthur Conan Doyle... I read a lot of their works before I knew anything about Steampunk either.

I started getting hooked on steam punk a couple years back when I met a few people through a craft group who do mostly steampunk work. Their work amazed me and I had to try it. I started incorporating steam punk into my paintings and I fell in love  Smiley

I'm not really hooked on steampunk but thought this swap looked fun and would help me get a start on collecting some non traditional ornaments!

Aw, man! I'm bummed I missed the sign ups this year. It'll be my first year of no steampunk ornaments. Oh well. I can't wait to see what you guys make!
