Okay, after being a total slacker (ugh, grad school, why have you sucked away my soul?), we have a new Craftalong challenge!

Challenge #5: Summer! - What can you come up with from recycled materials with the theme of summer?  It can be something to decorate for a BBQ, to take to the beach or pool, garden decor, or something else entirely!

Well totally not in the theme of summer, I dug two of these styrofoam packaging out of the trash at work a few months ago.

So I decided to make a snowman wreath/figure/thing because who doesn't think cooler thoughts when it is 90 degrees outside? Smiley

To all past swap partners....If something I made you fell apart in some way, it would be helpful to me if you PMed me and told me about it.  Sometimes, I try new things, and if they fail, it helps me to know

If you've got a stash (and who am I kidding - don't we all?) now's the time to enter in Craftster's Stash-busting Challenge!  You've got 6 more days to craft and post!

As part of my personal destashing goals, I decided that I am going to do a scrap project each week.  Scrap yarn, scrap fabric, scrap papers, etc.

Here is my project for 9/1:

I started with scraps left over from cutting out quilt pieces and some old recipe card stock I found in my Mom's basement:

I glue and sewed the scraps on the cards to make these:

I then used my heart stencils to cut out hearts. Glued them on and used a mix of glitter and glue to go around the edges....ta da--much needed notecards for swaps! Grin

I still have tons of scraps so I will be on the hunt for more easy and fun projects!

Thanks for looking!
