I've redone this twice and I still can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. The stitches keep getting pulled out and the pattern is looking loopy. I thought the tension was okay while I was crocheting... Should I try a different hook Huh

What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?

It may be that your hook is too big. What size are you using?

Thanks for the reply! I used a 3.25 mm (D) hook and size 3 crochet thread.

Aaah - I made the same mistake. I did mine with a 2.5mm hook and the thin thread-like cotton. Usually I only use wool/acrylic - big fat stuff in comparrison to the fairy-stuff I was trying.
You need to use a smaller hook, one of the teensy little steel ones. I still haven't figured out which one works best for me (I'm quite loose), but 1mm seems to be OK-ish for the little stars/flowers I try to make. It just feels like I am crochetting with a toothpick compared to the usual size 6 I heft about! Lol.
