Could you add a link to what you are wanting to make specifically? That would help a LOT.
I'm not sure but I googled the main key words in your OP.
Are you looking to make something like this?
If so you wouldn't really need a pattern, just know how to make a basic quilt from a panel of fabric and a pillow is pretty simple and straight forward as well. If you want a sham type pillow case that's simple to make just look at an existing sham cover and do something similar. I made a beautiful sham to match a quilt some time ago without a pattern. I had never even made a pillowcase let alone a sham before this one! The back had two pieces of fabric that covered a bit more than half the pillow. One for each side and the pillow slipped between the two like a store bought sham.
like this, I googled this image below to show how I made the back.
That way the pillow cover could be laundered without washing the entire pillow inside.
This is what my sham looked like.
If you want the lacy look of of the edge just put it between your layers when you sew. Then turn it inside out to have the wide lacy border like in the photo above.
To do that you want your right sides of the fabric together and put the lace between the two. But all three raw edges are together so the lace is facing the inside of the quilt. Sew around the quilt or pillowcase, leaving an opening wide enough to turn it inside out. Then turn it inside out and the lace will be the right way. Use the tip of your scissors to help turn and make them flatter the right way and press. Then stitch around the edge of the quilt so it stays the right way and doesn't want to go inward because of the natural way the seam was made. I'm sure there is a video on youtube if you look for it.
But it's pretty straightforward sewing IF this is what you are looking to make. But I'm not sure exactly by your description.
