I love eating butter tarts but have never actually made one myself so I decided to give it a go. I found a nice recipe here: http://www.intimateweddings.com/blog/butter-tart-squares-recipe-you-will-swoon-over-these-sweet-treats/.

Ingredients:

1 & 1/3 cups all purpose flour
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
1 & 1/4 cups  packed brown sugar
1/4 cup melted butter
1 cup raisins (This is optional. I did not include raisins because I am not a big raisin fan.)
1 tbsp vinegar
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp all-purpose flour

The recipe I used called for 1 cup of raisins but I subbed that for walnuts instead.

Fresh out of the oven:

And a view of the crust:

Interesting. I've never had a butter tart before. It looks delicious! I should stay away from the cooking boards at lunchtime!
