I have been wanting to do this project for a long time but couldn't find the right comic. I didn't want something too violent or gruesome and the colour balance needed to be right to fit in with our living room.  Finally it came to me - Moomins!

I took a 20 coffee table from Ikea and painted top white.  Then I stuck the panels on with PVA glue and varnished over the top. It really didn't take long, probably a day or half day project depending on how long your paint takes to dry.

This is the comic we used.

Halfway, laying them down...

Some details

Overall I really love it, our house is very eclectic and rainbow-y so it fits in well even if it doesn't match perfectly :-)  And it gives our guests something to read if they're bored.

I have a more detailed tutorial for it over on my blog.

Very nicely done.  I like the effect you get from a distance of having the same background color repeated for several frames in a row.  I hope you and your family will enjoy using this table for a long time.  Smiley

The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese. . . . I would rather have cheese.

Thanks, I hope it lasts too, I am having trouble getting the varnish right.  Water based or acrylic, very confusing!
