Well guys, she won first in her age group, ice cream coupons and a pumpkin, the costume got there an hour before the contest. it was a little big, i was afraid of that, but were very happy <3
My best friend asked me to make her 7 yr old daughter a "Pirate Princess costume" .. I hope it's pirate-y and princess-y enough for them
the hat is felt, (Tutorial from thread bangers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvopk72Bx3Y
) with feathers, a big brown bow, real shell, a ship charm, and a head scarf. The Shirt is dark maroon ..synthetic..silk?satin?? with ruffled chest. sleeves can be worn up or down, (costume required sleeves for school.) The "corset" is fake leather, and has gold and red trim with red laces, I made her a fake leather belt
and a genuine leather belt bag (Originally posted here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=426728.msg5082483#msg5082483
charm key chain, and matching bracelet. Buckle-printed tights are from a dollar store, and the skirt is yards of different colored tulle and ribbons on elastic. she is entering it into a contest.. so let's hope for the best!
