I've always wanted to make a spider web hoopla, so I decided to make one for my partner in the mini 13 days of Halloween swap.

I made the spider out of wire and beads.  All pearls except for the spiders back...I found a fantastic elegant charm that just fit perfectly.

I wanted to put something on the actual hoop, so I put some 'sugar' spiders and nests on it.  The little spiders are made of two pearls and thin wire.

The nests are little pearls wrapped up in bits of lace pulled tight.

I had a hard time giving this away, but I plan to make more!

Thanks for looking!

ooooeyeeeee! I absolutely LOVE this!!!! Thanks for looking???
No, thank you for sharing!!!!!!!!
Would you be willing to share how you made the web???
That is wonderful (I like the spider, too). It would look great in my bedroom on the wall.
Looks like a crochet chain stitch thingie for the web?
Bedspread cotton? I can make up a pattern. Very freeform. Just my style.  Grin

Oh man, I'm sure this will take away cool points but the web is actually this amazing fabric I found!  I forgot to mention that I did not make the base of the web. I wish!  Lol.  I found the fabric at jo-anns and it's actually what sparked this creation in the first place.  BUT if you end up being awesome and making one of your own, all by hand, please share!!  That would be pretty impressive.

Let me start by saying that I hate spiders.  But I still love this, you did an amazing job.

Thank you DS for your honesty about the web. I still may try one in crochet when I get the time. I decorate with bugs and spiders in my bedroom year round. Frogs and bird nests, too. I love nature, and Halloween. I will be sure to share if I crochet something similar to yours. I love it!
