This was a plain wooden cigar box purse my sis purchased and then asked me to do something for her with it.  I have not done any of the cigar box purses although I have admired many.

I have Multiple Sclerosis and this purse came to fruition as I was dealing with some physical aspects the past few weeks and began to see living with MS is like Pandora's box where the only thing to hold on to is hope.  It also helped me put in to perspective a few things when it comes to MS so it all turned out well...my sis got a snazzy purse and I gained perspective.  LOL

Anyways, I just thought I'd share it with all of you b/c I always LOVE seeing all of your wonderful creations.

WOW! That is awesome!  You really did a wonderful job and it seems to have been therapeutic to boot!

As a side note - my aunt has progressive MS.  Strangely enough she has experienced life in a way she never would and been able to explore her artistic side on a level she would have never had the opportunity to, had it not been for the MS.  Hang in there and continue exploring the perspective.

Thank you for the compliment AND understanding about the disease I live with.  I try to look at it as a blessing b/c its allowed me to see life and experience life differently than I would have not having this disease.

I love it.  You did a really nice job and I love the meaning behind it.

On a side note as others have said, my mother has MS.  She was diagnosed with it about 15 years ago and has gone downhill ever since.  She used to be very artistic but has lost the use of her hands...that and others have asked her why she bothers because she is no good.  I on the other hand am constantly pushing her to get back into it...she is very good.  I think it's something you learn to live with and if looked at properly (as you are seeing), you can grow from it and educate others.  Smiley

Nice work though...how did your sister like it?

I love it!  Bright, colorful and makes a statement!  What more could a person ask for?  You are very creative and your sis will love it.

On a side note, my brother-in-law has MS.  He used wood and did some fantastic carvings.  I hope you continue to make purses.  It's obvious you have a real talent for cigar box purses :-)
