  Maybe you could turn them into a jumper/dress.  Keep the top as is, and then turn the pants part into a short skirt....kinda like when you make a pair of jeans a skirt...

You could put some appliques on them. Or you could bleach them in spots to get a funky retro look. Or you could write your favorite lines of poetry on them.

It's hard to give suggestions because I don't know your particular style. But, think about what you want your image to say and then go from there! Looking at what other designers have done with plain overalls could give you some new inspiration too.
