grasshopper asked me to post pics of the piece that I sent to her -- so here are my best photos.  (If these look wonky to anyone, could you let me know? I took them with my iPad but saved them on a PC... sometimes I have issues.)

It's a tribute to crafting, in technicolor, evidently. Grin The background paper is one of my favorite scrapbook papers I have been hoarding that I stenciled on with some gesso, and the rest are bits and bobs that that I have been saving for something special. I altered the little shrine at the top that is in the bird nest with some music paper that I painted. The key next to it was jazzed up with some alcohol inks, glossy accents and some bling. The two purple buttons and the green/purple button were accented with alcohol inks and bling. The crown next to it has buttons sewn all over it, and was going to be a pin but I changed my mind. Grin  A bit to the left is a rabbit that I stamped onto paper clay, and below that is a milinary themed tag that I made with a sewing pattern and some ephemera. To the right of that is a Tim Holtz clear square thingy that I also used alcohol inks and music paper on. The little girl at the bottom is a cake decoration, as are the swirly bits on the corners of the box. The rest are goodies that I have had in my stash.

It was super fun to make! I hope you like it grasshopper! Grin Thank you for being such an awesome swap buddy.  Grin

I totally love my homage to craftiness! SonjaBoo outdid herself! My husband said "this girl really got your style and likes bang on!"  That is high praise from my generally-uninterested-unless-it-has-a-screen husband! Thank you for posting pictures! I keep looking at my new art and admiring it!

Thank you soooo much!

I was not able to get a picture I'm happy with of the piece sent to me by goatgoddess.  There's more richness in the colors in reality.

Her golden heart is so shiny!  It says "I had a heart as good as gold for spending or for buying."

Thank you goatgoddess!   Kiss

Ooh grasshopper love the use of the floor samples! I've picked some up before but never found a great use for them...

Sonjaboo, love the ode to a crafty love. All the bits and bobs go so wonderfully together.

goatgoddess, love the more simple approach to assemblage! it really makes you focus on the elements more. The patina effect looks lovely too.

I'm only now posting pics of my package I got a week ago.  I've  been super swamped at work and out of town again Sad

hgddm and I both did bird assemblages for each other.  I really liked all the interesting pieces she used in the piece she made for me.  It's so cute and sitting on my bookcase Smiley

Everything is just so COOL!  I love how there are so many ways to interpret "assemblage" for one thing.  And it seems clear that sheepBlue is awesome at making partners Grin

Glad you like it! Looks like it got a little jumbled in the mail Sad The little pearl string was attached to the bird's beak so it looks like you caught him in the act of hoarding shinies Smiley

Ah the bird looks like it's hoarding its random treasures, so great!  Cheesy
