There a lot of charms on the cage, and they did catch a lot of light. It will hang or sit in front of a window whereever I end up. LOL I am so exhausted, but this gallery has so much inspiration.

AM - Love the huge cogs you have included in your piece! Where did you get those from? The overall effect definitely feels old-world, so great.

The big cogs are from a dismantled (unrepairable antique Sad ) pendulum clock.  Lots of dismantled from various clock parts in there....

the birdcage is a lovely base, it is like an altered suncatcher Smiley

Great idea lovesclutter to have changeable pictures on the front.  I really like the sculpey tree you made with the wire swirls!

I received the most amazing piece of altered assemblage today from Craftsunderground!!  At first glance I was in love because she included so many of my favourite things....rusty stuff, a cross, old book cover, copper bits, old wood ruler and cool random bits.  But then I read the back where she explained what everything on the right side symbolizes.....and the "for skill' piece became very personal to me.
The front....

The left side...

The right side, with all of the symbolic items (explained on the back)

The back (which is also the back cover of the book)...

Thank you so much for this wonderful piece of art Craftsunderground, you rock my socks Grin  Now I have to decide where to put it, I was going to hang it over my work table for inspiration but it would also be fabulous in the kitchen where I could see it ALL THE TIME.....

I vote for the kitchen. You can also get your inspiration there two-fold. Food and drinks before you craft. And your friends who are in there can enjoy it, too! What a wonderful piece of art! And Craftsunderground, you have wonderful handwriting!!! In addition to your artwork. What a great piece to have in a collection. I love it!!!

That is so cool! A very thoughtful piece of art.

I received from grasshopper last week, and have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off lately -- so photos are horribly late! But check out what she sent -- I love this piece so much. Grin

Using some awesome floor samplings from the HD, grasshopper also incorporated some of my favorite things -- including a PEZ! ha! How awesome is that? And the E is my initial, I love butterflies, ephemera, the crafty bits -- it's just too fun!

And a more upright view:

Thank you so much grasshopper! This piece will have a place of honor in my craft room!

ha i think i was secretly stalked for a supply package i got from the wish swap. as i was just asking about the gears and i just got some in the mail! the kind from a craft store! lol

i am going to make a mold of them also so i can make polymer ones when i run out, and the plastic it came in is perfect for a button mold! lol

i love all the thought that went into those assemblages. great meanings for each part!
