I received a most wonderful piece from Alteredmommy. It is everything I love. The wooden box is covered inside and out in layers of papers with music and texts in different languages. It is edged in postage stamps. The timelessness of the stamps and the text go so beautifully together. Inside, the pieces are so dimensional. The variety of textures is stunning. I will stop talking and let you see the pictures. I m so happy to have it for my own.
Here it is nestled in it's package--so exciting.

Take a look at some of the details

See its depth and the richness of textures?

The back and one side--such an old world look

Here is the full view

Thank you Alteredmommy. I hope your package arrives soon.

What an incredible assemblage!  Looks like a great collection of rusty things (drool)...is that a used flash bulb?  Shocked

i wish we all lived close to each other, wouldn't it be so grand to get together a table of stuff and have an assemblage get together? i always dream of having crafty get togethers, but i do not know anyone around here!!!! i see the posts about people going to crafting classes/getaways and such. i want to do that sooo bad!!!!

i missed a gem and mineral show over here. i was sooo bummed! they had fossils and minerals and gems and bugs!!!! yes i did say that...bugs!

all three (fossils, bugs, rocks) some of my favorite things!!!!! sigh, me and auntie couldn't find a sitter. so we have to wait until october of next year for the next one.

on a side note...yesss i need a tute on how to make that hand! do you think one could be made using those plastic hands for halloween from the dollar store? they are no where near as skinny and awsome looking. but i am trying to think of ideas!

also what did you do over top? is that paper machet? what kind of paper? paint? ahhh i gotta know!!! tute tute!!!!!!! i hope you post here if you make a tutorial, and if not, i hope you tell us a bit about how you made it!

eventually i am going to make a tutorial on polymer faces, boy hubby is going to have fun with that one helping me take all the pictures in progress. i think it will take a lot of pics. hope i can focus enough when i do so to not be scattered lol.

today i tried a sculpt out that i never thought i could do! i usually have an easier time sculpting faces, and hard with animals, but today i did an awsome grumpy cat face!!! lol it is for the OWS. so far got lucky, no burn! now all depends on the paint...oy!

Very cool alteredm!  I think it must be a memory generator...or an idea battery Grin

To all past swap partners....If something I made you fell apart in some way, it would be helpful to me if you PMed me and told me about it.  Sometimes, I try new things, and if they fail, it helps me to know

There seems to be a certain amount of peer pressure for the the Hand of Glory to get its own post. So I guess it will. Embarrassed

I love the barbed wire and snake bone heart so much. It's like a magical amulet! I was about to say that I like it because it's so simple, but then I also love AlteredMommy's not-at-all-simple box assemblage. Using postage stamps to edge the box with is a brilliant idea - I've certainly got lots of those. And for the younger generation, that's an unused flash bulb - once they've been used the glass goes opaque and burnt-looking.

Here is the awesome bird cage assemblage I received from Frosty 772 and I'll post what I sent her in another post after this.

These pics are from my cell phone camera, so they will not do it justice, I hung it outside on the porch, and it looked awesome. Now I am packing in back because I have to get all my stuff in storage.  Sad

Thank you so much for swapping with me Frosty and Sheepblue for hosting.

Damnit. I just lost an entire post I've been working on for 15 minutes. Angry Angry

This is the shrine I sent to Frosty. I will just let the pics tell the story. She likes Victoria and the pic on the fronts of both parts can be changed out.

ludi - I love the heart surrounded by delicate bones and then rough rusty wire! It is beautiful!

AM - Love the huge cogs you have included in your piece! Where did you get those from? The overall effect definitely feels old-world, so great.

frosty - Love the bird cage as a base! It looks like a fanciful suncatcher.

lovesclutter - Great piece! I love the quote you included especially  Cheesy
