question for you all...

mod podge or the glue/water mixture?

which do you prefer and why?

if you do the glue/water due to the lower cost, do you find it holds up well over time? im kinda just getting into mixed medium stuff, tho we did similar for years demoing at rubber stamp conventions, but used other products with diff applications/surfaces.

i have a boat load of elmers i got at back to school sale for way cheep and i see lots of Pins saying 1/4 water, 3/4 elmers and its pretty much the same as mod podge. just wondering if anyone has personal experience they can share.

Thanks!

I've been laid up with a sinus infection since Friday.  I haven't even checked to see if I could claim anybody since then.   Cry  Just wanted to let you know I was still here!

Mod Podge is made to last. Glue water can actually degrade over time. It depends on what you are doing. For anything with paper I will use mod podge. For glitter or other non paper, I use straight glue or occasionally water it down, but rarely.

I've only found other brands than modge podge here in Sweden, and if I really want an item to have a good finish I use a decoupage varnish for the last coat. The decoupage glue isn't as nice since the stuff I managed to find feels sticky even when it's dry. The varnish fixes that. I haven't tried with watered down glue.

Well, I'm still here, but I'm also STILL SICK!  Cry  First round of antibiotics didn't work, so I just started another last night.  Oy.

I just went thru the lists and there's no one I can claim, even if I was up to it...

rscowtown, when I clicked your pinterest link, it said it was in "read only mode" and it wouldn't let me get to your boards....

I received some awesome felt hearts for our christmas tree from Grab a coffee yesterday! I'm going to try to post pictures on monday since I work this weekend, but since I pinned them from her shop they look exactly like my pin Wink

I hope you feel better soon! I didn't have to get any antibiotics for my sinus/cough issues. Yay! Luckily it was just a cold and nothing hiding in my lungs or anywhere else. I really don't like having to take antibiotic since it'll usually mess with the other medicine I have to take.

Blah... But I feel a bit better today, so hopefully I'm back on track with my crafting next week. I've mostly petted yarn, coughed and planned what I want to make these past days...
