Okay... I'm offically stumped....

This year for halloween (yay my toddler is still young enough I get to decide her adorable costume), my 2 1/2 yr old is going as a little leopard... which we're making out of a few white n pink leopard print fleece throw blankets (horray for $2 blankets!).... Which we've all seen those bunting style jumpsuits (the kind with the legs and no feeties, and the hood attached), thats how we're doing my daughter's outfit (horray for functionability, cause its going to be her winter-wear too!)

Last year she went as a little homemade lamb and I was her shepard (it was adorable, I had a little cane, and my cloak and she rode in her baby sling all fluffed out in fluffy sherpa)

Now I completely stumped on how to design my costume to match her's (as I want to go as mommy-leopard...got to enjoy these occasions while I can!), but I dont really want that cheapo slutastic walmart "sexy-leopard" look either... I'd like a skirt and top, and legwarmers (the latter I've already got figured out) but the skirt n top I'm just stumped on... any idea's?

The fabric we're making both costumes from, I've got probably 3 or 4 of these blankets just for my costume alone and can always get more...just so anyone with idea's know's what I'm working with haha!!

I have no ideas about a fleece skirt or anything but if that doesnt work out or no one else has any ideas, you could always go as a lion tamer.

I was also thinking along the lines of lion tamer before I read the post.

So you are looking for something like this, but just make the skirt longer?  LINK

Ooo didnt think about that....might add some arm warmers too in that case >.> and likely shorten the tail....wouldnt want to trip any little kids out trick or treating (I finallllly got my little girl to say trick or treat haha!!)
=^-^= I think one her quilt is done I'm gonna start on my costume and will certainly post pics up afterwards

Thanks a TON for the ideas!

i would say instead of making a longer skirt maybe go with leggings underneath since you already are planning the leg warmers. a shorter skirt with the tail coming out of the top back maybe use wire to make it curl close to you so you can keep tail length without tripping anyone. as  for the top i would probably just find a good size tank top or even a long sleeve black shirt and use it as a base for the blanket so you can still cover up but have the shape right. hope this helps maybe.

Totally considering making boot-cut pair of legging style pants with the tail attached at the waistband...then I could sleep in them too and make them cute and functional...wonder if that would look cute.....
