I have been contacted by an art gallery, requesting some of my feather pieces for them to display in their gallery! Pretty cool opportunity so I had to jump on it. Smiley
These are the pieces I came up with.

They're all painted with acrylics on real feathers. From the left the types are: peacock, peacock, turkey, peacock.

Enjoy!

It does not surprise me one bit that a gallery would want your work.  It's always fantastic!

Does the paint hold the feathers together, or do you fix them to each other before you paint the picture?

WOW.  I cannot imagine painting on a surface like that, period.  Much less achieving that kind of detail!  Very impressive.

Does the paint hold the feathers together, or do you fix them to each other before you paint the picture?

I glue the feathers together very carefully before I start using this crazy aerosol glue. Once that stuff is on, it doesn't come off. It definitely takes some practice before you stop ruining feathers!  Cheesy
And then I always spray the feathers with some sort of aerosol fixative (fun fact, hairspray works in a pinch too!), that helps stiffen it up, prep the surface for paint and helps keep the barbs from separating.

I've got a few other tricks up my sleeve. Wink

Absolutely stunning! I'm not surprised in the least you were contacted by a gallery. I see big things in your future, what a gift you have!
