I love my Etsy shop, and I think I'll always keep it, but I've been trying to think of ways to get larger amounts of income at a time. I'm thinking I'd like to work on wholesaling and maybe even licensing my illustrations and designs.
Fascinating topic, and I look forward to reading more. Best of luck to everyone!

Have you considered selling at art fairs?

There's NOTHING at a craft show, or on Etsy, anybody NEEDS. NOTHING.

I have! I used to sell at every singe art fair that could have me, and it was really fun to get out and meet customers and other sellers, even if I didn't make money at all of them. I also didn't used to have a car, so I would schlep all my wares (table and chairs, too!) on the bus. It's been a few year since I have done a fair, but I want to get started again with Crafty Wonderland here in Portland in December. That gives me plenty of time to get my work to a good, sellable point. I'm really looking forward to it!
