I don't mind, and I hope others don't either.  Fine art is not a forte of mine myself - mine are likely going to be some form of mixed media collage.

I'd be okay with it! Most of my fine arts would make a cat laugh. Which is why I'm so impressed with them!

A question for everyone.

I just received a Wacom drawing tablet and I'm wondering how you feel about digital art.  All the art I make with it is drawn by me and is original, but then gets printed out.

Would you feel cheated if your cards included digital art?  Does it seem less handmade or personal to you?

Not at all! After all, purchased items, pre-printed items, re-purposed items, etc. are often used. Original digital art is still original art and makes me excited. Sounds intriguing and awesome! I use Photoshop or Illustrator all the time in my crafting. We are lucky to live in an age of computers...how else would have we all met?

Just started planning the cards, and I have a small question. Since the cards are meant to hang, I guess the back will have to receive a little bit more attention than usual. (At least not let the cereal box be visible Smiley ) Do you still include the normal ATC info on the back, or should we rather focus on the back being decorative?

I think last year, I sandwiched the hangar/ribbon between two layers of paper, so the back was neat.  But I did put a title and my name/the swap as well.

I probably will be doing mine directly on tags, or mounting them onto tags, so it is double-sided.  I was not thinking of swap info on it - but now that you brought it up, i will probably either write mine on the ribbon or a small tag on the hanger.

I would love some original digital art...
I have had a couple of unsuccessful tries on my ATCs so far , fortunately there is still plenty of time to perfect the technique etc...It's funny how sometimes smaller is harder  Tongue
I probably need some eggnog and more chocolate ... to get in the spirit Grin

Got the ATC's cut out this weekend. I had some scrap Masonite board about 3/16" thick that I cut into size....almost the size. I'm a bit flaky on exactness with power tools. No fingers were lost in the process though! Still need to drill hanger holes, or figure something else out.

Now to prime and prime my brain. I have the concept, but still working out the process. Fun, fun!

I have one card done, and one card nearly so.  I need to find smaller somethings so it doesn't look odd when it's hanging.

Cheesy

I'm still in planning mode. I know what I want to make for my partners, and I have a few sketches done, but that's about it  Cheesy
