 Huh

My daughter is suppose to be a "pretty maid" for her preschool's "Nursery Rhyme" fundraiser in October. I am suppose to come up with a costume.... and I am at a loss what to do and I don't really have any friends IRL to brainstorm with... so, help???

I have a sewing machine, beginner skill & maybe a 20 budget for this project and want my daughter to look nice. There is also going to be a little bo beep, little miss muffet, etc. so also something that will stand out and NOT look like carbon copies of those dresses.

Can anyone please help me? Any ideas on dress type, patterns, fabrics? Anything???

Thanks in advanced,
Sarah.

What, like a milk-maid, or like, just "maid" as in young, unmarried girl? Cuz I immediately thought milkmaid.

Like in this rhyme?
White blouse, long skirt made of rectangle twice her cirumference (at least), vest without sleeves (but with makeshift-lacing, just pin a cord with safety needles to the front), and, most important, little white bonnet.

ARGH! Most of these cheap dirndl costumes really hurt my german eyes... *shudders* I'd go for this one:http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_TgZU5tQSskI/TELxqSSqrOI/AAAAAAAAA_4/Dsmv2NL6gSE/s1600/Maidservant:door.jpg
