I send out a lot of cards, and because purchased cards are getting so expensive, I generally like to make my own. Plus, who doesn't love a homemade card?

Here's one I made this week using some papers from the Spellbinder's Ephemera Paper Three pack. The colors in this pack of paper are so muted and soothing, and coordinate well with each other. This card was made with simple layering. What's difficult to see is that the white frame behind the image of the little girl is embossed to give the card some texture and depth. I like the subtle look of the white on white.

Here's a closeup, which shows the embossing a little better:

I may send this card as is, or, for a special occasion, stamp "Happy Birthday" on it.  Smiley

I love the vintage look of the papers!

It is amazing how expensive cards are...I agree with you...a simple design and beautiful papers really personalizes the card and makes it a gift on its own!

Beautiful...I need to check out that grouping of papers!

Very subtle and soothing, you're right!  I love how the colors complement each other so well.

This is so sweet, racky. It's a subtle detail but I really like that you rounded the corners on the image. It goes well with the soft colors. Really nice and could be used for any occasion!
