First of all, did you know it existed?  Ours recently just put up the sign, but apparently some of the locations have been doing it for years.  You ask and they give you a 5-lb bag of used grounds to use in your garden (free).

Which brings me to my question -- then what? Smiley  I know they are to be used as a fertilizer, but what exactly is the process?  Layer?  Till them in?  Teach me, oh wise gardeners. Smiley

They are also supposed to be slug deterrents. Sprinkle them around your vulnerable plants and the caffeine and the texture is supposed to put them off.

They are slightly acid, so consider where you're putting them.

They can go in the compost too, just spread 'em around abit  so there's no big lump. If you use the browns vs greens method, they count as browns.

We use coffee grounds in our worm compost bin.   Smiley
