Felted red panda purse

I am a red panda enthusiast.  So when I needed to make myself a new purse I decorated it with a Red Panda. It is subtle yet whimsical. I needle felted the face to give it a furry feeling. I had never needle felted before.  I just stabbed some roving in with some felting needles, through a stencil.  Probably not a proper technique but it was really fun and therapeutic.

Very cute. And what's improper about that? That's super proper! Good job doing what's proper even without knowing any better! Woo!

This is such a smart looking bag!  Red pandas are my favorite and yours is perfect. I think needle felting with a stencil is a brilliant idea.  It prevents you from stabbing yourself, which is something I would have to think would happen all the time with needle felting.  Or maybe needle felters are just a little less clumsy than I am. The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese. . . . I would rather have cheese.

Stencils are a perfectly fine guide to use with needle felting!!

jexxican: Thanks it is good to know I winged the proper technique.
EllaRain: I did not stab myself but I came close. I did break a needle. I am pretty clumsy and I really got into stabbing the needle fast.
Helcura: Thank you.
Harlan: I thought I would do this one needle felting thing  and that would be it but using a stencil is easy and addictive.

Cute bag -- red pandas are adorable, and you did them justice.  I like that it is small in the corner -- I think you size choice makes it look elegant rather than loudly graphic.

I love this bag -- that's a great fiber stenciling job! I am going to have to try that.
