I was informed not long ago that all children at my kids' school may only carry the school-provided backpacks.  They are soooo boring that I couldn't bear it.  So, what's a crafty mom to do?

This is a Rent-A-Zilla from one of my favorite webcomics, Megatokyo. Smiley

I may add a city skyline in ruins at a later date.

Great job! I know that kind of fabric is hard to stitch on but you mastered it!

(trumpet flare) Duh-duh-duh-da!  Crafty Mom to the rescue!  It looks great, and the stitching pops so nicely against the red of the backpack.

No kidding!  That plasticky-coated canvas was a nightmare!  I had to use pretty short lengths of floss because it just shredded the floss.

I made a deal with the kid that if his teacher gives me good reports, I'll add more stuff.  To which DH added, "And then before you know it, you'll have 27 pieces of Flare!"  Cheesy
