Egg cartons make perfect collection and storage containers for scavenger hunts!

So simple -- just collect some clipart applicable to your region, print, cut and paste.

I went one step further, since we are teaching reading right now, and added the words below each image.  I used mini brads to attach the clipart images.

It's also very important to stop for hydration along your journey.

Dry your flowers and leaves in books to preserve them.  If you're feeling really feisty, spray your dandelion puff with hairspray to preserve it. Wink  And lastly, take your findings to Show & Share Day at school Grin

That is really a wonderful idea...education and fun!

One more tip:  teach kids to recognize poison ivy and other local poison plants...just don't let them gather it! Sad

That's genius!

It's so perfect for him.  He always carries a pail on our walks to collect things, so I thought his head was going to explode when I presented him with the activity.

Yes, lots!  We went to our local farm metro park (it's a living historical farm park -- SO cool), our neighborhood and our yard.

YES!  Great idea.  We are already working on this quite a bit, too.

Haha, you know my pain all too well.  I can't even count the times we've heard, "Is that an itchy tree?" this summer.

What fun!  I like to take the kids to find things for our fairies and fairy houses to make. What a great way to help them find things to inspire their creativity, instead of just throwing it in a plastic bag! Cheesy
