More little trick or treaters! I had Mr. 'Coo cut some 2" by 4" pieces of wood for me, and I painted and collaged these "Batty Boo Blocks". This is my favorite Halloween craft I've done so far this year, but I'm certain there will be more to come.  Smiley

Here's Franklin, the wizard, and Marta, the little witch:

I used some gorgeous orange paper by BoBunny, plus some chipboard bat wings and some images of kids from Alpha Stamps collage sheets. Because the bat wings are thick, the kids are raised up a bit from the background block. Here are some others I made.

Michael, the masked:

And Reagan, the poisoner (I'm a little afraid of her!)

All together now: trick or treat!

Fabulous! They look great all lined up together. Do you do anything to age the papers or did it come with that semi-distressed look?

I'm a little afraid of Reagan too. She's spooky!

I'm going to ask our contractor to save the little scraps of wood from our current home project Smiley.

The papers are pretty well aged, but I did ink around the edges to have them blend in with the black a little.

And do save your scraps! I'm always digging around in the scrap pile for the perfect sized chunk. It's good to live with a woodworker, though, when I have a specific size in mind.

Amazing, as always!

Do you use any type of sealant on the item once you're totally done with them? Are your kids printed on anything special, or just regular paper/cardstock? (apologies if that's been asked before...I can't keep up these days...lol!)

These are great - and yes, Reagan is creepy.  I think that must have been a creepy picture even before you "Halloweenified" it!

I used matte Mod Podge on the blocks, but the kids aren't sealed. I got them from a collage sheet from Alpha Stamps. They have a few collage sheets with vintage images of children.

Yes. Yes, it was.

I can only hope that sometime in the very distant future, someone finds a childhood picture of mine and dresses me up for Halloween or uses my image in some other bizarro art piece.  Cheesy

Great ideas for using up odd wood blocks! How do you raise them off the block though? And I don't hink I would be eating anything Reagan, the poisoner is making. Shocked
