Glad you liked the wand! The fabric artist who dyed the silk is Marjorie Fielding (my sloppy writing), and the wood was just an ash board I had lying around. The card, of course, is by the amazing Knickertwist, who gave me a branch of black locust from a tree struck by lightning in their yard. I intended to make the wand out of that, but I've never worked with black locust wood before and it turned out to be too tough and stringy for what I wanted to do.

By my standards that was small!  In my defence

I'm finally able to post picture of my goodies from spazgirl1981. Sorry for the crappy pictures but this was all I could get.
First up, she sent me pages for my BOS. They are double sided but I had a lot of trouble just trying to get one picture, and at that, its upside down.

They are very beautiful.

Next up, she made me this felt acorn which is hanging on my bookshelf already.

Candles and herbs,

And she also sent me a bag of stones with a beautiful bracelet. I will be wearing the bracelet to the Witches ball this year.

Thank you spazgirl1981for everything and sorry it took so long to post pictures.

I just received a very large and quite extraordinary package from Sabertooth Pixie! I'm rather awestruck by its contents. It got rumpled in shipping, so I need to do some ironing first. Stand by for photos!

I had completely forgotten that, so long ago, Sabertooth Pixie had asked for my measurements and clothing sizes. So it was a complete surprise when I opened the rather bulky package that arrived today and found this:

She called it a tunic, I would call it a smock, but either way it fits remarkably well. (Coincidentally, I've just been reading a biography of the British sculptor Eric Gill, who always wore a similar garment, even though by the 1930's it was about 300 years out of fashion. Cheesy) In the very sweet note accompanying it, SP apologized for the fact that the seams weren't pressed, but her iron died while she was sewing, and she couldn't afford the time to go shop for a new one. I almost choked up when I got to the part where she apologized further for sending it without cuff buttons (the very handsome buttons were included separately) because in the move she couldn't find a needle to sew them on! Cry (As it happens it's okay, because I think I need a couple more buttons at the throat too, and I have four that will fit perfectly.)

I really like the colour, and while it's not everyday wear, I think it will go very will with a coat I'm working on. For next year's Harvest Festival, maybe.

Thanks again for this - it was SO worth the wait!

Wulf

PS: And would you believe she claims this was the first real garment she'd sewn, and she made it up by combining several patterns? Wow!

And sorry about the anesthetized look on my face in the photo. I think I was trying to figure out why the flash hadn't fired or something like that. (I am just getting over a cold, but I hope I haven't been going around all day looking like that!)  Sad
