My sister got married in this year and I really wanted to make their wedding present myself Smiley I decided on crocheting a large blanket (despite me never having completed a large crochet project before) and landed on Drops' pile of flesh called Bohemian Oasis Smiley I just think the colours and style is absolutely beautiful and I felt the style really suited my sister Smiley It took me 5 months to finish, but the fact that it was a wedding present motivated me to keep going and actually finish it Smiley Now I'm bit by the blanket-bug, heehee Smiley

The blanket is made using Drops Delight and Fabel and I made the blanket much larger than the pile of flesh said, so it's about 1,6m x 2,1m. That's 221 squares in total! My sister and brother in law absolutely loved it Smiley

Here's all the finished squares Smiley I eat all the different colours Smiley the photo doesn't do them proper justice..

Layed out before I connected them all Smiley

That's beautiful.  Congrats on finishing such a huge project.  I'm sure it will be treasured for many, many years to come.

This is gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! What a wonderful gift. I eat the colors- the black contrast really makes them pop. While it is colorful, they all go together quite nicely. (I get the meanings for the terms for tone, shade, contrast, etc. all jumbled - but whatever it is that makes them match so nicely, you nailed it! Smiley

Beautiful stiches, colors, and great joining! Blankets bring out the lazy in me; every time I start one, I end up frogging and making something else instead. I think it's great you took on such a big project and did so well.
