Hi All

I've been doing basic crafts off and on and am wanting to add beading to the mix.  I decided to use the holidays as a good time to practice and make crafts for at least some of the relatives.  Mainly beaded/charm bracelets.  Also considering getting a beading loom, although may start out with a more inexpensive one before getting a better one.

Noticing though, at least to me, once you decide on a project you want to make, how do you determine what size wire and bead size is best whether it be for say a beading loom, or a beaded bracelet or necklace?

the beading loom projects I'm currently considering will vary some in size.  but could be from 6-10 rows in height.  I saw one pattern I like that said 11 rows high but that seems like a lot to me and almost too wide for a bracelet

thanks, Suzanne

This link give a short, but in-depth, description of different wire sizes and what they're usually used for

I can't give a definitive answer as to how people pick bead sizes, but I will say that there are different styles of "wide" bracelets. Cuff bracelets are very popular right now and they're usually between 1" and 2" wide so 11 rows won't be too wide unless you decide it's too wide.
