My working title for this piece was "Pink Swan", current title is actually "Silence".

I painted it with acrylics on a 16"x20" canvas, and little fun fact, I didn't use any black at all! It was a challenge, but I really love the result!

That is amazing! Did you start with a black canvas or is it all paint? I applaud your skills of not using any black!!!

It's beautiful!
And I wouldn't have guessed that you did not use any black.
You made a stunning contrast with the dark brown mix anyway.
You are very talented.

Thank you!! =D

Goodness, thank you!! <3

I've learned in the past that painting over super dark colours can be a nightmare when it comes to overlaying light, bright colours, so this time I sketched out my birdie, and then painted around the bird with the dark paint rather than painting the entire canvas black. Sooo much easier. Smiley

I think more artists should take on the challenge! I'm thinking I may try to avoid black for now on. I find its a ridiculously boring "colour" now that I have seen the results that you can achieve without it. Smiley

Actually if you get up and close with the painting, you can see that the primary colour of the "black" is actually purple. =D

Stunningly beautiful!
