I set out to make this lovely afghan for a dear friend who's adopting a baby boy.  I really had no pattern other than a large granny square where I changed colors every two rows and a stuffed head in the middle. That sounds rather wrong. So I made a granny square at 21 inches square and searched Pinterest for a pretty scalloped border to add on to it for a more finished look. Then I searched Pinterest again for a crochet ball pattern for the head. Found it here:

The I crocheted two small circles, folded them in half and single crocheted along the edges to make the ears. I attached it to the stuffed head and sewed it onto the blanket. It's really a simple project I completed it in an afternoon.
