I havn't posted any projects here before, but I love challenging myself to always make something smaller, I just recently started making roses with clay and my husband challenged me to do some really small ones so I thought that would be perfect to share here as well.  Smiley

I used a little bit of wire as the stem and just used flat circles of clay to wrap around as the petals, it was definitely a challenge trying to make them without squishing it all together while adding the next petal, but I'm happy with all the little roses I made and got pictures of my favorite out of them, I hope you like it too and any thoughts on how to improve them would be very much loved!

Very lovely. I love to make tiny things, too.

In regards to your suggestion-ness, my only suggestion would be to try to thin the edges of the petals a bit, and give them a slight curl. (I use surgical (dental) tools when I sculpt. There is a flat paddle one that works great for lots of things!) You could stick the wire stem into some styrofoam for support, and then have two hands to craft with. Quite lovely, though. I love how you twisted the center - first piece - to look like the new unopened petals, as in a real rose.

Lovely.  You know these would make lovely hair pins, I'd love a pair.
