I was recently in need of a garter belt to keep my knee socks in place, so instead of shelling out the cash I decided to hack up an old pair of leggings to make a DIY garter belt. I opted to make it on the longer side, so it functions more like a slip/garter belt. Basically, I just cut the leggings, hemmed the edges, and attached the suspenders with garter clips. Of course, I added little bows for decoration Smiley

Here's what it looks like:

I started by cutting off the legs of the leggings to create a short skirt length garter belt:

The finished garter belt:

It's a simple process, but if you want to see how to make it there is a full tutorial over on my blog.

Thanks for looking!  Smiley

Wow!  Super cute!  My husband would never let me out of the house if I wore those (in more ways than one)!

Haha, I usually keep everything covered up when I wear this out in public. But not always!  Smiley

What a GREAT idea! They would stay in place if the leggings stay in place.
