I don't remember when, but when I went looking for some pictures of Mexican folk embroidered dresses, I found these by LittleDear. I fell in love, even though I don't have a Blythe. Two weekends ago, I went to Mexican Fiesta with my mom and fiance, and saw some full sized ones, that started at $55.  Cry The nice thing about having dolls is, you can make them the clothes that you can't have. So, I set to work on a Pullip sized blouse. ....And then I saw this challenge and was like, score!

This was way, way, way more work than I thought it was going to be. Over all it took about a week of my free time to finish. I counted the threads on the yolk to map out the two sides and the center area, and then blocked them out with a running stitch. I hoped this would help it be more symmetrical and properly blocked out. The bottom butterfly and flowers I free handed. I think it went pretty well.

I didn't get a picture of it with a ruler, but it's 3 1/2 inches long and about 2 1/2 inches across. Here's one of my girls modeling the top.
