So since I finished my brooch bouquet with plenty of time before my wedding next June, and real flowers are hella expensive, I decided I would try coffee filter roses for the flowers for my wedding. I followed the tutorial on the Martha Stewart website, and made about a dozen on the weekend...those suckers take a long time to make! Then, not being a painter, I grabbed oil paints at the store rather than watercolors...had to take them back...let's say hubby-to-be now has more experience with types of paint than he ever cared to have! I also had a failed attempt using a bouquet holder (which I had to go to about 5 different stores for) with them, and ended up getting some PVC pipe cut to 9" for the handles. It all worked out though, here's how the first dozen turned out:
