OK - just to let you know I'm going to be late sending for this swap. I NEED at least a month to recover from the shock of having spent 60+ on fabric and other bits for the swap - hoping I'll have lots left to start a stash with - but needed to make sure I had enough that if I go wrong (as am a beginner sewer still learning) I can do it again, and again, and again, anddddddddddddddddd dddddddddddddddd... ................... ...

Oh my goodness, Feline! Cheesy  I did that with a swap, it was making one large amazing item.  I bought a pattern, fabric and zippers and nonsense to make a special bag that my partner wanted.  I bought lots of extra fabric and spent a fortune.lol  I ended up making two bags because I was still fairly new to sewing and the first one was wonky!

So I've got one bag done and have finally made a decision on the other one. Smiley Today, kids willing, should be a great crafting day!

OMG my postman must think I am setting up a business. I went downstairs yesterday, went into my porch and there were FOUR parcels for me. (Fabric and elastic, closures, iron on interfacing and fleece and a parcel from the sweat shop swap) today I was unwell so stayed in bed until this PM, luckily my husband had a day off as at about 11:30 there was a knock on the door and a parcel delivery van with a parcel for me (a big box FULL of zips, they had apparently been used but you can not tell, they don't even have sewing holes!) which my wonderful Husband brought up to me. 12:30 there was another knock at the door, another parcel for me (non crafting stuff) then 1:30 I heard post coming though the door and my husband climbing up the stairs (he doesn't half spoil me!) And I had another 4 parcels (fabric, something crafty for this swap I can't remember, and the last two sweat shop swap parcels!) I have never had so much exciting post in such short a time in my life! I have bought a he'll of a lot of fabric for this swap so I hope it is ok to make items which don't all match the bag!!

Does anyone have advice for a really strong hand stich? I am working overtime, and don't have a day off until October 4th, so I need to sew everything at work. I almost always use a sewing machine for "heavy" duty work, but this just isn't an option because of the sheer amount of hours I am putting in at work, and I just can't not bring a machine to work.

This is the purse weekend!  I hope to start and spend many hours crafting away!  I think I have all the materials, but it never fails that you get an idea and you don't have just the right thing on hand and must run to the store!

I keep coming up with more and more ideas for INSIDE the purse..Hoping to have the purse finished tonight/tomorrow. It would be easier if I weren't so critical.. =)

2 bags done and fillers are coming along nicely! (I am in love with these bags and I hope my partners like them too.)

Is anyone else having this much fun coming up with fillers for their partners' purses?
