Great continuing craftiness everyone!

For my Fear of a Name challenge, the lovely headmistresses asked me to try and make something out of my terribly failed slippers.  So after some hemming and hawing I realised the sole of one slipper was salvageable.  I carefully cut off the top, poked a hole in the middle (the soles are doubled), and filled it with rice.  Then I salvaged some of the semi-felted yarn from the top and sewed the hole shut!  Now I have a nice rice bag for my back (I have a displaced, hypermobile sacroiliac joint from the pregnancy).  So at least I got a small silver lining!

Challenge: Fear of a Name
House: Gryffindor
Name: Silver lining rice bag

Class: SoAR
House: Gryffindor
Name: Hallowe'en Bean

One of the meanings of Jera is fertility - although it usually means fertiility of the land, I'm stretching it a bit to people too.  It can also mean the change in life, and a baby brother for our daughter is definitely a change!  No, I'm not submitting the baby as my class Smiley  But I do need something to wear for a Hallowe'en party this weekend, as well as on Hallowe'en day at work.  I didn't want to make an all-out costume I'd only wear once, and none of my other costumes will fit over my becoming-substantial baby bump, so I thought I'd stencil a little baby skeleton on a black shirt.  It took quite awhile to cut out all those wee pieces, and even then I had to fix up where the paint had bled underneath.  But here we go!

LOVE your shirt, Tia! GREAT idea! And the change to your DA challenge - great! I had sacroiliac joint issues, too, when I was pregnant with the Hobbits!

I've been away at St. Mungo's with a nasty stomach virus (my daughter shared it with me after I took care of her while she had it).  I'm still worn-down, but I'm feeling more myself...though still need more R&R.  Just wanted to keep everyone updated to my whereabouts (in case you were missing me).  Alright, taking myself back to bed for a nap.  Wishing everyone bright blessings!

...and WAY TO GO WotW!! I'm absolutely in love with your project. Grin

pinks, I LOVE your awesome Owl Basket!!!

Class: Frog Choir
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Leafy seat cover
Project Page Link: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=428515.0
Brief Description: I've been trying to attract a frog to be my partner, but so far no luck. I can't get them to stick around once I find them! I'm hoping this seat, mimicking their natural environment, will help them feel more comfortable around me.
