Winner of Witch Weekly's Most Charming Smile Award.  But we don't like to talk about that.  Much like Fight Club.

Hee, hee.

I was waiting to see if anyone caught that.... Wink

Midkiffsjoy SUCH a cute tea cosy, and those tea bags are excellent!!  I like the baby wipes, too!  I should make a bunch to keep around for baby gifts!

Netchez  Congrats on your prefect badge.  Way to go!! Cheesy

Inselaeffchen  My girls are loving these!  They've always used these really primitive snapping octagons I made, and they like these SO much better!  I use a Diva cup, but plan to make myself a few of these, too. Smiley

Pinkleo  Your bear has such a sweet, happy expression.  I know he/she will make someone VERY happy.  It's impossible to look at that face without smiling. Smiley

jennieingram What an awesome bracelet!  Beautiful!

ErinAquahearts  LOVELY plum hat!  It looks so comfy and warm! Smiley

midkiffsjoy: That teapot cozy is awesome! I LOVE how big the puff is!

I've got an assignment to turn in! I noticed on my calender that Grandparent's Day is coming up (this Sunday folks!) and normally I don't celebrate these type of random i've-never-heard-of-this-holiday-in-my-life holidays, but I was feeling crafty so last night I whipped up some cards for the grandparents. Smiley

Class: Arithmancy
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: FOUR Grandparent's Day Cards
Project Page Link: soon!
Brief Description: For my Arithmancy project I made four Grandparents' Day cards (one for my parents, one for DH's parents, one for each set of DH's grandparents). What is more "stable" in our little Luna's life than four sets of grandparents? Smiley

Inselaeffchen- Thank you Thank you *bows deeply* Smiley  Omg!!! O.O  No teapot!!???!!!  *clutches chest dramatically* How do you survive without one??? Smiley  That's a NICE card!  Smiley

Pinkleo- Thank you. Smiley  That is an adorable bear for a very worthy cause. Smiley

Jennieingram- I always so love your bracelets, and this one is no exception.  Great job! Smiley

ErinAquaheart- Glad to see you having fun with your knitting loom. Smiley  You did a great job.  Smiley

Netchez- Congrats on earning your prefect badge!!! Cheesy

Moonflame- Thank you. Smiley  Nursing pads too.  I've had people ask me to make them breast pads for baby showers now.  O.O

WhistleFish- Thank you.  I just couldnt help myself.   *teehee*  Oh wow!  I love your Grandparent cards!!!  I had three sets of grandparents, a great aunt and uncle I CALLED grandparents and plenty more great aunts and uncles (My Pawpa was one of 13 kids)  There are few things as wonderful as tons of elders in the family.  Smiley

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Divination
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Kitten Hat
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: AnnoyingLittleSister's kitten recently had kittens so I have been afforded ample opportunity lately to study felines.  Four of said kittens are white with ears trimmed in grey.  They are quite lovely.  With them in mind I was inspired to crochet a 6-12m kitten hat with grey trim.  I have never done staggered stitch trim like this, though I witnessed my mother utilizing a similar trim on an afghan when I was very young (think 1970's).  This is also the first time I have crocheted ears.  It was very nerve wracking, but I think I pulled it off. Smiley  I used the Micah Makes Earflap Hat pattern.  I really LIKE earflaps on baby/child hats.  It doesn't get cold down here for very long so no one here knows how to dress for the cold.  When the cold hits, all the kids come down with ear aches (Not mine.  My mother is from NJ.  She KNEW how to bundle kids up.)  Tubes are becoming a plague common to childhood here. Sad
Project Picture:

My inspiration.  Poor little puffball was tired from playing with the children.

Grandparents Day is a "holiday" likely invented by Hallmark or perhaps my in-laws. Seems typical that it's an American thing. (I'm only feeling slightly cynical this morning  Wink)

And now to business...

*OWL Proposal*
OWL Subject & Option: Transfiguration, Option 1
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Teesha Moore Patch Sewing Machine Cover
Brief Description: I will be doing some major stash busting for this project. My large supply of both fabric and embroidery floss will be transfigured into a multi-textured sewing machine cover.

*NEWT Proposal*
NEWT Subject: Arithmancy
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Quilting by Numbers
Brief Description: Using leftovers from my Vanishing t-shirt quilt, I'll be making a twin-sized quilt for my son. I have several 4" x 4" squares that I will be making fit into a 63" x 88" 9-patch quilt:

My calculations based on directions from this blog:
Take away 1/2" (for seam allowances) for a finished square of 3.5"
63" (width of quilt) divided by 3.5" (finished square) = 18
88" (length of quilt) divided by 3.5" (finished square)= 25

So 18 x 25 = 450 squares. Layout will be 18 blocks wide by 25 blocks long.

I *think* I have enough squares for that!  Cheesy Guess we'll find out!

**All calculations subject to re-evaluation**

Class: Flying
House: Gryffindor!
Project Name: Feather Necklace
Project Page Link: N/A
Brief Description: My husband blacksmithed this feather charm for me a while ago, and I've been holding onto it waiting for the perfect chain to put it on. Finally I decided to make this strand with some random beads and a feather charm. I think it has an overall bohemian feel.
