~*Advanced Studies Friday Tuesday Update!*~

Over the course of the weekend I completed 13 bracelets towards my NEWT, as well as started 5 more!  I finally had to take a break Sunday afternoon, because my hands were cramping up too bad to keep working.  Sad  This brings my total of NEWT bracelets to 58.

46 days and 17+ bracelets to go!
(At this rate, I'm going to have to up my goal from 80 to 100!

Since my update yesterday morning, I have completed 14 more bracelets!  4 of which will be counted towards other classes and challenges, and 10 of which will be added to my NEWT total.  Cheesy
54 days and 30+ bracelets to go!

*Inselaeffchen wanders aimlessly through the halls, trying to see if she can find Hermione to ask if she could borrow her time turner. The O.W.Ls have not been started, and she hasn't even LOOKED at the craft stash to see what she needs.

She also needs to go and speak to Mr Ollivander ... that wand of hers is really wreaking havoc with the hats she was trying to get done, somehow they always end up with 2 straight sides at right angle (where the 2ch are) and then round on the other where it should be a circle?!?!*

I have made exactly zero progress on my OWL in a fortnight (excuse being that I need to bust out the sewing machine for it. maybe once my coursework is finished (ie in 2 weeks-ish!!) ). and even less progress on the NEWT (ie zero progress, but over a longer time period!)

anyway... some smaller bits I've been working on instead

Class; Divination
House: Ravenclaw
Project: predictable curtains
the class prompt reads: Pick out a cat and study its movement.  Then submit a project that either demonstrates you knowledge of the cat's form or reflects a prophecy you divined from the cat's movements.

I picked out my cat (I decided to use my cat, funnily enough) and set to observe it. I observed it jumping on the bed. I observed it jumping on the desk. I observed it jumping on the curtains.
I divided from this movement that I would soon need a new curtain. This prophecy has been revealed as correct.

Thus, new curtain:

It's just a nice linen, and since the fabric was a perfect width I left the selvedge edges as a feature (Not at all because I couldn't be bothered hemming), and finished the top edge with a nice twine and bow detail. maybe one day I'll add some more in the way of decoration, but actually I'm enjoying just the lovelyness of the linen now. I love linens i do Cheesy

challenge: Spew
House: ravenclaw
project: the hat of success!
I was determined to make at least one hat that was long enough and completely without mistakes. Well, finally, success! Hurrah!

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

I love the simplicity of your kitty curtains, noodle-bug. Leaving the selvedge makes for a beautiful curtain. Great job on all of those hats, too.

13 completed bracelets in a weekend, Mistress Jennie?! Way to rock that NEWT.

I need to find that guy and marry him.
True story.
lol

Good.  We'll all be at the wedding.  I have my jar of Floo Powder at the ready.
Ooh, yay! Sunshine yellow robes for everyone!

Good, because I look alright in yellow.  Cheesy

Noodle-bug, those curtains are sweet!! It's inspiring me to make some for my apartment living room. I hate blinds and thats what we have to have, but those curtains would cover them nicely with still letting some light in. Also, your hat is adorbs!!

Abbee - that Hogwarts carry-along is so cute!! Very clever  Cheesy

Class/Challenge/House Pride: House Unity
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Ravenclaw Shawl
Project Page Link (if available): None
Brief Description: I made this Ravenclaw shawl for my partner in the B2H swap. It was made using a single piece of fabric (and it was the first time using our sewing machine by myself). I embroidered the edge with bronze swirls. It is modeled here by my sister who is a Ravenclaw herself as well.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Charms
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Monster Book of Monsters
Project Page Link (if available):  more pictures and info on how I made it here
Brief Description: I made this Monster Book of Monsters box out of an old nursing textbook for my partner in the B2H swap. Hopefully, this box will help my partner keep track a few things. (This was the hardest item to send off, I think I will be making myself one using an old dictionary as the base). The book came with a story: A copy of the Monster Book of Monsters found its way to an American muggle university (specifically the College of Nursing). The magical government in America contacted the MoM thinking that the book had originally come from Britain, and sure enough the book was traced back to Flourish and Blotts. The proprietor of the store claimed no knowledge of how the book fell into muggle hands but agreed to have the copy transfigured into a box. The muggles at the university had their memories modified and the box was given to a former Hogwarts student.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Herbology
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Maple and Unicorn wand
Project Page Link (if available): none
Brief Description: I made this wand for my partner in the B2H swap. The wood is maple and the core is a unicorn hair. The wand should enable my partner to protect herself from the dangerous Whomping Willow.
