Those pillowcases  are awesome!  Silly question, how do you customize like that?  I'd love to be able to make these tee shirts people have posted but all I can figure out is how to cut a thick shape on my silhouette cutter with freezer paper, iron it to the shirt and paint...how in the world do you do those detailed designs?  Ohhh the tee shirt possibilities....

I wish I could take credit for customizing those pillow cases but those were Sublime Stitching iron on patterns.  I do think they turned out great though.  I used metallic silver for the swords and that especially worked up nicely even though it's a tangled up mess to stitch with.

I *so* wish someone had mentioned that note about metallic thread a few weeks ago  Cheesy  I've been making these 5 little hanging trees with felt ornaments for my 5 littlest nieces and nephews and I decided to attack my fear of embroidery.  I thought some metallic threads with would go nicely on the star and other pieces.

I now hate metallic thread and everything it stands for.

Despite this, I am finding that embroidery suits me although I don't think I suit IT nearly as well.  Wink

I really hate metallic embroidery thread! I love the way it looks, but working with it is rough. I find it helps to use shorter lengths than I normally would use and stick to very straightforward stitches. Glow in the dark is a pain too because it makes the skin on my fingertips dry out in a weird way and then it starts snagging and catching on my rough scaly fingers...

Those bracelets are all so pretty and those pillowcases look awesome.

I used metallic thread for a hoop and some TM patches a few months ago. At first it was a pain but then I did some searching and found some tips for using it. After finding this it was a lot easier for me to stitch with.

Oh I don't do anything that would even come close to any of that mattering - at least not yet anyway!  Cheesy  I mostly just hate tying the damn knots.  Which is what I hate about sewing and embroidery and all of that but this metallic nonsense is a thousand times worse.  Once I get done with these ornaments (and believe you me I am NOT doing all of them with this stuff), I am saying goodbye to metallic thread.

I got a lovely piece of Yarnia artwork today from Breegy. Sadly it was damaged in transit, the frame had snapped and the glass had scratched the picture. I will be reframing it and hanging it as soon as I can get a new frame sorted.
