Hi all,

I'm doing a James Bond LARP, and my character is pretty much Edna Mode from the Incredibles, except a more real life version.

Anyway, her name is Arachne, and because her speciality is textiles, when I go to my first event (in a casino!) I want to dress the part obviously.

Now, I vastly don't have the wardrobe for a casino, which is in part why I based it on the Edna Mode type character because you can get away with a basic black dress. But I have an embroidery machine, and patterns for freestanding lace, and I already wrote knife-proof lace into my dossier. My idea is to have collar and cuffs, to offset the absolute plainness of my dress.

Here's the question. Do I try to make the whole thing spider-themed, or is it enough to have the textiles.

Here are my options: (Yes they are all Urban Threads because I'm a happy addict)
Spider themed: (I don't own these yet but they are cheap enough)

(I know that last one is technically a doily, but it comes in wedges and I can make that into something)

Not-Spider: Evenfall. (I own this - I've only made the mask so far, but it already has pieces designed to be a collar and cuffs, and it looks pretty dramatic while still being fancy)

All and any help appreciated!

Best,
Novena

Osiris Cultist: Ohh. Fill the Jackal's head with OIL. Now it makes sense! At first I thought you said scalding hot 'voile'.
Osiris High Priest: What the hell is voile?
Osiris C.: It's a soft, sheer fabric. I warmed some up in the dryer.
Osiris HP: What kind of torture is that!?!
