crabby that looks amazing. I must have that yarn now! lol
ill definately be doing this soon. what flavors did you use again?
Let's see here....Black Cherry, Strawberry Kiwi, and a mix of green, red, and blue flavors to make brown.  See the "Yarn Dyeing" photo album on my blog for pictures and details of the process.  Have fun!

Oh, I'm thrilled by your socks, too!  They're absolutely great!  I can't believe you just squirted the Kool-aid onto the skeins and didn't have to make hanks.  Yowza!

Mathgirl--those are ridiculously amazing.  I don't suppose you would be so inclined as to tell us what sort of yarn that is you used?   Grin

Thanks guys!
socomfy, the yarn is called Blauband and the company that makes it is Froelich. It's from Germany, I got it at a yarn shop in Valparaiso Indiana, and I know you can order it online with a little googling. It is fingering weight and it only comes in solid colors, so it would make for some pretty boring socks if you didn't dye it.
Sewer Rat- it was actually a little hard to dye in the skein. I had to really pry apart the outer layers to get any dye on the inner layers.

QUESTION:  What colors are your favorite for Kool-Aid yarn dyeing?  Do you like to mix up the colors just to see how it will self pattern? AND ... Are the colors pretty colorfast?  Do you notice if adding salt or anything else makes it more colorfast?
