This first one came from a little cross-stitch kit that I found at a thrift store. Originally, the people were both supposed to have red hair, and the lady's dress was supposed to be the same color as the man's overalls, but I changed the pattern a little bit to make it look more like my grandparents.

This one, you probably recognize as a Subversive Cross Stitch pattern. I made this for my sister's birthday, and I changed it just the tiniest little bit. I didn't really care for the pastel thread colors (and I didn't have any anyway), so I used some of the super-bright, almost-neon colors that I already had. Also there are a couple of instances where I added an extra stitch to a section (that first gorram "t" makes me so angry), and I had to undo quite a few rows because apparently I'm really bad at counting stitches. (The fact that I used 16 count aida cloth instead of 14 didn't help much either, oops.) But all in all, I'm pretty proud of it, and I'm hoping she likes it.
