Thanks you all!   Kiss

I'm about a week behind on my Research Project because I've been trying to decide on the scale of it.  This is being a difficult design process.   Huh

I'm procrastinating on my midterm for school, so instead I've been crafting.  I should have a couple of things to post later this week, and I made some progress on my poppet Research Project.  I got her eyes...installed?...and limbs attached.  I started cutting yarn for the hair, too.  Originally I was thinking of doing a crochet wig cap, but now I might just attach it right to her head...I can't decide.

LovelyMiss, that reminds me: I have a naked Jareth the Goblin King poppet who has been that way for a while now. I just have to FIND him. Grin That's why I'm doing some overdue spring cleaning!
For him, I attached his hair directly to his head. If you want to style your poppet's hair in pigtails or such, a wig cap might be a good idea.

I'm working on a project for the FIM prompt; it's a swap item and is going to be so pretty. Or at least it will be if I don't botch it! Lol

LovelyMiss, I was working on attaching the hair directly. Someone suggested laying out bunches of yarn on a strip of Scotch tape, then sandwiching it with another strip before stitching over it. Then, you peel off the tape and hand stitch it on. What slowed me down was that I was only using one layer of yarn on each strip, and I knew it was going to take forever, so I put it aside. Then, another person told me I could do a few layers of yarn at a time. I haven't done it yet, but I'll get to it... as soon as I find where I stashed her!

And, I'll also have a few projects by the end of the weekend, I think. Definitely one, and depending how quickly that goes, hopefully at least 2 more!

Thanks for the tips!  I ended up just sewing bunches of hair right to the head.  If I was giving it to a child or someone else, or if it was going to be played with a lot, I probably wouldn't do that, but since it's just for me, I figured I could manage to not pull it out on accident.  Cheesy  I ran into a different problem, though, since I used an entire skein of yarn, her head is kind of floppy.  I meant to put a support in her neck, but I was too excited and just stitched it right up before I remembered.  I'll probably have to go back and add one.

For fun, here is a progress shot...though the colors aren't quite right.  I still need to stitch her head on (once I do some reinforcement), and I couldn't find the eyes I wanted, so I just ended up using plain black.  She also has long eyelashes, but you can't really see them in the photo.  Now she needs clothes!
