It's going to be hard to craft for the next two weeks because we're short two people at work which means only one day off per week instead of two. Yay for people quitting without giving their two weeks notice  Angry

That stinks, FreakieGeekie! But, you can use the extra money for craft supplies! Smiley

And, I picked up my half of my CSA share today and got some sugar snap peas. They were very fibrous, and not fun to eat raw, so I decided to make a cold pea soup. Problem was, when I found a recipe, I didn't have most of the ingredients, so I sort of substituted or omitted most of the stuff. Turned out pretty tasty! But, I don't know what category I might be able to submit it under (Textbook Team Spirit, maybe?). Any suggestions?

I'm jumping on the Prompt Help Bandwagon -- I'm definitely going for a Gold Medal in at least Foodology, and I have two recipes (crockpot pulled pork, and crockpot beef & broccoli) that I have not found a prompt for yet.  My remaining (open) prompts are:

  • June - Best Things in Life
  • June - Button Up
  • July - Battle (Cat vs. Dog)
  • July - Flash Mob (UFO)
  • July - Midnight Opening

Thanks in advance, you lovely, crafty, creative people.  Wink

Well... ask a friend to bring over one of the main ingredients for a recipe and cook dinner with them. Using a "free" item will get you into "the best things in life". Make them a thank-you card utilizing buttons. You could also make a dish and propose a familiar meat, claiming that if you were making it in another country it might be made with dog. So there, you're saving a dog by using beef. Cheesy Okay, maybe that's a stretch. But hey, can't hurt to try! Good luck!

That's the only upside because I have to make my Halloween costume and craft some geeky ornaments (I want a geeky Christmas tree).

Do you have a favorite movie where they eat those foods or use a crockpot?  Or if you want to go really loose...I'm sure your crockpot has some buttons of some sort!  I didn't specifiy in the Button Up prompt what type of buttons you have to use.  Cheesy

I've been working on painting my shelving for my Research Project the past few days.  I'm a little underwhelmed with the outcome so far.  Perhaps they needed another coat of primer?  Or just need another coat of paint (they've already gotten two each).  I love the colors though, so hopefully I can get some better coverage.  Grin

I have actually been working on my research project!  *gasp*

But now I remember why I keep stopping, you can only stab yourself in the fingers so many times before you start bleeding on things...

    *owie*

I'm not normally that bad at hand sewing, and it's not the sewing needle I'm stabbing myself on, it's the pins I'm using to hold my fabric in place when I sew.  Because it's a bra and curved and padded it's hard to hold onto and sew well.  :/  Ah well, I'll get back to it at some point.  I'm liking the design I came up with, at least, so that's something.
