Thanks, everyone!  I am also a big fan of all things skeletal Smiley

Time to submit a research project:

Research Project Name: Renaissance Festival Clothing
Team: Wordy
Brief Description: My husband and I love going to renaissance festivals, and always wish we were dressed up.  I decided it is time to make us some clothes!  This will be a big undertaking for me since I am fairly new to sewing, but I plan to use a pattern.  (It may not be the most historically accurate pattern, but our goal is to have fun, and I know I am not at the level to manage those nice historically accurate patterns).  I will start by making an outfit for my husband so it can double as a Christmas gift.  I hope I can pull this off Cheesy

My timeline is as follows:

Week 1: Decide which patterns to use, measure my man, buy fabric.  At the moment, my idea is to make a tunic/loose pants with some peasant accessories, but this may change based on what looks good from my research
Week 2: Cut out fabric
Week 3/4:  Sewing everything and hoping it somehow fits Smiley

Battle/Challenge: September Battle Austen
Team: Multimedia
Project Name: BBC movie badges
Brief Description: I created buttons of characters from movie adaptions of Jane Austen Novels.
This was a hard one. I am a fan of Shakespeare's Comedies, but since I watched the Lizzie Bennett Diaries I"ve been a fan of watching the movie adaptions of Austen's books. I wonder if Austenland will be funny?

Battle/Challenge: September Convention
Team: Multimedia
Project Name: Buttons
Brief Description: I recently went to PAX, Everyone had buttons and was giving them away. Many were buttons promoting upcoming games, or blockbuster characters from their games. It was strange seeing people sell the items I make for $5-$10.

Battle/Challenge: September Palindrome
Team: Multimedia
Project Name: Symetrical washcloth
Project Page Link (if available): On Ravelry
Brief Description: There is a washcloth that is the same front and back. In fact each row is the same. k1 yo k to end. When you get halfway done you start to decrease at the same rate of one stitch per row. this time you k1 yo k3tog k to end.
This creates a garter stitch perfectly symmetrical washcloth.

Bonus: My husband heard me reading the Palindromes and shared this video

Research Project Name: Knit Socks
Team: Multimedia
Brief Description: On cold winter nights in your spaceship, out camping, or just hanging out at home relaxing, I've heard that the best thing to have is a pair of wool socks. I'd like to research the techniques of making socks and emerge with my own pair of wool socks.

docnessie I can't believe that's just clay! You did such an amazing job!

Eiseldora I love the buttons especially the Firefly and Avengers ones. They turned out awesome!

I need more time in the day!!! My crafting time keeps getting interrupted by unimportant things like dinner and sleep! Hopefully though I'll have something finished by this weekend.

Battle/Challenge: September Challenge - Periodic Table
Team: Multimedia
Project Name: 67th Birthday Card
Brief Description: I had to make a birthday card for my FIL's 67th, so I checked the Periodic Table to see if there's something I could use for this challenge. I used the Atomic Number of Holmium, and also used its colour (silvery white - in the heat embossing and the base card below the green card) as well as its Classification of Metallic (silvery metallic embossing powder).

Project Picture:

(sorry for strain on necks - I'm not sure why the upload didn't take the rotation adjustment I did before loading the picture)

Now to tidy away all the papercrafts stuff before bed time (otherwise the Hobbits will have their hands in it tomorrow morning.. Wink )
