I am taking my kids to Disneyland for the first time in September.  It's a surprise trip and I am having too much fun doing all kinds of planning and hiding Disney stuff for them.  I had seem some really cute ideas for pressed pennies on Pinterest and so I ordered up two Disney pennies from Ebay and made them into zipper pulls for the kids Disney backpacks.  In the Disney Swap I also received an awesome Disney World pressed penny from phoenixfiredesigns and made myself a zipper pull too! Underneath the pennies are the pressed penny books I got them to store all the ones we make in Disneyland.

We are going to be pressed penny crazy!  They have maps online so you can get every one in the parks!  I also bought the kids these rubber bracelets that you can put a penny in to wear.  After we get home I will probably make Adia a necklace to go with her bracelet.  I am so excited to show them all the loot I have collected for the trip.  So hard to keep it all a secret LOL!

These are adorable!  What a clever idea!  I may have to hijack this one.

May I suggest that you construct autograph books for the kids as well?  The prices for them at Disney are outrageous, especially if you don't happen to see a lot of the characters or you don't want to wait for the signatures.

I have to tell you, your enthusiasm for the trip is outrageous, and I think it's great, all the planning you are putting into it.  Your trip will be SO much better for doing so.

I have autograph books!  Purchased online Smiley  I found some cute Disney themed notebooks and figured those will work as well as anything else!  I also got them Disney themed journals so they can record their adventures everyday, Disney pens, Disney shirts, Disney stuff that I hid from them in Disney Swap.  They are going to be CRAZY spoiled with so much Disney stuff!

Cool idea!  You should get some more when you get to Disney and make another set of zipper pulls!

I know!  I think I am more excited about telling them and see their reaction than anything else!

I love pressed pennies!  What other souvenir can you get that costs less than a dollar and isn't some cheap mass produced piece of plastic crud?  And usually (especially at Disney) they are specific to the place, so you can easily remember where you got them.  We made a bunch on our trip, too, and I'm planning on (eventually) punching holes in them and turning them into a charm bracelet.  I love the zipper pull idea, though.  I might have to use that for one of our trips that only have one or two machines.

Watch out, though - carrying all those pennies and quarters gets HEAVY! Smiley lol
